All original and complete. Excellent plus metal, markings, and edges. It is clearly marked on the lock in front of the hammer with an eagle and The rear of the lock is dated "1863". The top of the barrel is marked "VP/AN EAGLE" and is also dated 1863. The lock and hammer both retain most of their original factory case colors. All of the rest of the metal on the musket is in excellent plus condition and retain most of their original polish on them. On this model the bands and rear sight were blued. The wood on the musket is excellent throughout including crisp edges and a fine grain to it with a few bumps and nicks as would be expected..There are two very clear "U.S. Inspectors Cartouches" on the backside opposite the lock.
